About Shivalik Akshay
The building had been divided and subdivided for sixty years. The restoration reversed that, returning each floor to the two apartment plan the original drawings described.
Original terrazzo was lifted, cleaned and relaid. New work is plain and modern so that it never pretends to be period detail.

Architecture
Cream plaster facade with the original streamline mouldings repaired by hand. Inside, high ceilings, deep window reveals and rooms that run the width of the building.
